Keto Diet Plan

How body produces energy?

To understand what Ketosis are you must first understand how human body generates energy and what is the role of different nutrients?

The macronutrient – Carbohydrate is broken into glucose which is burnt by the body to produce energy to be used for doing work by the human body. Extra glucose that is produced in the body is stored. This storage can last up to a maximum of two days.

When the human body is low in glucose it breaks down the fat stored in the body to generate and fulfill the energy needs of the body.

When fats are burnt, ketones are produced. This metabolic process by the body is called- Ketosis.

How can Ketosis reduce weight?

When the body is kept under a state where the available glucose is so low, that it cannot be burnt to fulfill the energy needs of the body, the body automatically initiates the process of Ketosis. Therefore, glucose is replaced as the energy source of the body and Ketones take its place. Hence you start losing weight.
